Dr. Swetha Vajapey
I obtained my Master’s from Argosy University in Clinical Psychology in 2005. I began working with children in an inner city school while at Argosy. Then, after my Masters, I focused on broadening my experience by working with children, adolescents, families, and adults at a community mental health center. I decided I wanted more clinical training and proceeded to obtain a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The George Washington University in 2011. While obtaining my doctorate, I worked with adults including women in a transitional community home, The George Washington’s community clinic and conducted assessments with people seeking asylum.
During my internship year, I worked with young adults at a university counseling center. While there, I had the opportunity to engage in integrated care alongside medical health care providers and a psychiatrist. I also worked with university staff to provide seminars for students on various mental health topics including drug and alcohol awareness, safe relationships, and procrastination.
After my doctorate, I joined Kaiser to further increase my training in providing integrative care. I was able to broaden my skill set to include running skills based treatment groups, engage in supervision for postdocs and triage/crisis work. I currently focus solely in private practice.
I have over 15 years of experience with clients and currently work with adults.
